Parker McCollough - Vice President, State Governmental Affairs

Parker McCollough is vice president, state governmental affairs, for Entergy Texas. Based in Austin, he is responsible for all state legislative and state governmental affairs activity at  the Texas Legislature. McCollough joined Entergy in this position in 1996.

In this capacity, he has been responsible for the development and passage of important legislation impacting the company, including Senate Bill 7 (Texas Customer Choice), House Bill 1567 (Entergy Transition to Competition) and House Bill 163 (Hurricane Rita Securitization).

Prior to joining Entergy, McCollough served as vice president for governmental affairs for the Texas Association of Realtors, the state’s largest trade association. From 1988 to 1993, McCollough served two terms as a state representative for District 52, which covered Williamson and Burnet counties in Central Texas.

During his tenure in the House, McCollough served on or chaired several committees, and the Texas Chamber of Commerce presented him the Distinguished Service Award and their Legislative Leadership Award. Texas Monthly named him “Rookie of the Year” after his first term in 1989. The Texas Civil Justice League named him Legislator of the Year in 1992.

From 1983 to 1988 McCollough, a native of Panhandle, Texas, served as municipal judge in Georgetown, Texas, and was president of the Williamson County Bar Association. In addition, he was in general law practice with the firm of Connor and McCollough. He later joined the firm of Wright and Greenhill before joining the Texas Association of Realtors.

McCollough graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration and received his law degree from Texas Tech School of Law.
