Beaumont Permit Requirements

Within town limits Permit Office

Electrical permit or inspection for one or more of the following:

• New construction - temporary

• New construction - permanent

• Commercial Permits for a name change are good for 30 days

• Residential/Commercial Permits for construction are good for 1 year

• Commercial install, turn on, read & leave on

• Rewiring/upgrade Commercial and Residential

• Tampering or inactive consumption- permit required only if there is physical damage to the meter pan.

Exceptions:  The City of Beaumont does not perform inspections or issue permits to facilities owned by Lamar University
