Measurement & Verification

Verification

Each new home may be subject to any combination of the following verification techniques: home energy modeling, inspections, duct testing, and blower door infiltration testing.

Documentation

To document ENERGY STAR® certification and demonstrate compliance with all program rules, the Implementer must submit to Entergy monthly reports that contain the following:

  • Contact and accreditation information for the Implementer;
  • Information about the participating builder;
  • Information about each certified home that includes floor plan ID, address, certification, and inspection dates;
  • Information about the air-conditioner equipment in each certified ENERGY STAR® home;
  • An EPA ENERGY STAR® certificate for each home;
  • An air conditioning sizing worksheet for each BOP-certified home; and
  • Documentation of equipment sizing procedures based on ACCA Manual J (Form J-1) or other approved sizing procedures for all HERS-certified home.

In order for an Implementer's report to be approved by Entergy and for the Implementer to receive an incentive payment, Entergy must have supervised the certification of at least 10% of the homes reported in any one month.

Inspection

For quality control purposes, Entergy must supervise the BOP inspection or HERS ratings of at least 10% of all homes certified under this program. In addition, Entergy must supervise 10% of the required blower door and duct blaster testing conducted on participating homes. Entergy reserves the right to select which ratings and inspections to supervise and to return to a home after certification.
