Why are my bills lower than they were a year ago?
Beginning in March, the average 1,000 kilowatt-hour residential bill dropped by about 20 percent.
The average bill is now $103.98, compared to a previous average of $132.36. The $28 decrease reflects a decrease in what we charge you for the natural gas we purchase and use to generate electricity. Entergy Texas does not make a profit on fuel. You pay what we pay for fuel, based on market prices. A new charge is reflected on bills each September and March. If the fuel charge is set too low, a surcharge may be added. If it proves to be set to low, a refund will be given.
